In a landmark decision, the US Supreme Court has ruled in favor of the plaintiff in the case of Claudia vs. the Breastfeeding Nazis. In the majority opinion, Justice O'Connor stated that "the defense was unable to provide evidence that any child would bleed from the eyes or spontaneously combust if not suckled at the breast." Both mother and child are grateful for the decision, although Senate Republicans called an emergency session of congress to try to pass legislation to force the "feeding tube" to be reinserted. It is unlikely they will have the majority necessary to pass the bill.
After a couple of weeks more on "the Machine", Claudia will abdicate her role as primary food provider and Chloe will switch to formula. I've always wondered who decided to call it "formula," since I normally associate that with the secret ingredient that gives your counter-tops that added shine, or some smoking liquid substance which turns Professor Klump into Buddy Love. They all have names which sound like spage-age polymers or antidepressents. I haven't checked into all of them, but I hear that Autobot is a little better than Decepticon. We'll let her decide.
In the meantime, we recruited Cabbie, Brain, and Maggie to get us out of town, and spent another weekend in NoFo. On the way, Chloe learned one or two new facial expressions, including a creepy one in which her eyes move in places I thought weren't physically possible (View this photo). She is also manifesting a new personality trait we find a little disturbing, but we're hoping she wears herself out before she bursts a major blood vessel or something.
