Woo hoo! There's not a lot I like about my job, but getting days like today off is a big perk. While the rest of the world is slaving away, I'm at home in jeans and an untucked flannel shirt, listening to Cheeky play "Old McDonald's Farm" for the 2,476,528th time in her "activity chair." The only veterans I know are a guy I work with and Master Chief, but I'm still grateful for the sacrifices they make for our country, and for the day off they gave me.
And it gets better from here. We negotiated a sleep-over for Cheeky at ECG's, which is starting to look a lot like this. We're dropping her off in an hour or two, after assembling the 60 lbs. of equipment and rations necessary to transport her. We've got dinner plans on the Lower East Side, then we'll catch up with some friends at Whiskey Ward and acquaint ourselves with the jukebox. But the best part, without a doubt, is that we're sleeping 'til noon tomorrow. As I said before, woo hoo!

You sort of know another - I's a veteran too
