After much contemplation, we have finally arrived at a code-name for Claud. Thanks to all of you who contributed suggestions, but in the end it came down to something far less complicated and more apropos.
We're sitting on the couch the other night, watching the Rose Bowl which, for the record, rocked. (Digression: How would you like to be Vince Young? Do I come back for my senior year to the adoration and worship of an entire state and unlimited access to college girls, or do I enter the NFL draft and make a gazillion dollars as teams stumble over themselves to draft me? I call that a win-win.) About ten minutes in, and after much pillow-adjusting, body-shifting, and grunting, she declares, "I feel oodgie." This phrase has been repeated about 2,476,528 times in the last several months. I've heard it as she tries on 17 sweaters before leaving the house, and as she's performing a triple salchow while trying to get comfortable in bed. It also sounds, to my ear, like a muppet's name.
It resonated in my brain for about 0.0005 seconds before I declared my intention of naming her "Oodgie", and, since she was restuffing and reupholstering our sofa cushions, she gave neither a rudimentary defense nor a credible reason why it wouldn't be wholly fitting. So it's official...from this point forward I shall call her Oodgie and she will be mine and she will be my Oodgie.

Awww... that's so sweet. "Oodgie" My spouse is merely "Hubby". ;)

And you will hug her and squeeze her and call her George--er--I mean, Oodgie.

Okay, that was funny.
However, it's quite sad that I not only caught your reference in your last sentence, but actually laughed out loud to it. I need to watch some Clint Eastwood movies or something.

Just for the record is that "oodgie" pronounced like "foodgie"? or pronounced like "nudgy"? Or something that crosses over????
