Time's inexorable march forward continues, and as much as we've had moments in the last week where it felt like all time was suspended it turns out that the sun keeps coming up in the morning (at least for now) and if you don't water your plants they're gong to turn into dejected strands of death exposing your negligence to the world. And although I don't have Giuliani and the NYPD here to usher in a return to glory, I feel like it's time marshall on.
It's a weird time here at Casa de Cheeky. Last week was a blur or friends and family, and next week we'll be flying to Spokanistan for another blur of friends and family. Wedged somewhere in the middle are two work trips, a ton of packing and preparation, and the season premiere of Entourage. And Cheeky, who cares not for the responsibilities of adults, continues to loudly announce her intentions of playing Candyland until she gets cavities from it. It's exhausting, and although I have the strength and constitution of a wild northern elk my organizational prowess is comparitively feeble and keeping up with it all is giving me a headache this big.
Anyway, I've spent much of the day face down in the details, trying not to get distracted by hockey moms, hurricanes, and that weird little man standing in the corner of my office that no one else can see. Sadly, this leaves little time for blogging save placeholder posts like this, designed primarily to move Alex's picture a little lower on the page and let y'all know that regularly schedule program will indeed return.
So...what's up with you?

What brings you to Spokanistan? I have a sister in Spokane. One of these days I am going to blog about my last visit there, in which I spent 34 hours of my 36 hours in town puking all over the Hotel Lusso. Good times.
(Continuing to think of you and yours).

I feel the same way right now man, except the little man in the corner is strapped to my back with a bull whip. Looking forward to things calming down soon. Have a good trip.

Oh, I'm so taking you to Boo Radley's to get the "Spokanistan" shirt. Or perhaps "Methlahoma"?

The weather's just about perfect here right now. Mid-70's to low 80's and sunny all week. Enjoy your trip. Come over to Coeur d'Alene if you get tired of the traffic and crowds.

Oh the days of wine and Candyland. 'Time was I got so darned tired of Candlyland that I started teaching the kidlet to play other card games using the Candyland deck: "got any double purples?" "go fish!" Next thing you know, she'll have a lollipop woods and molasses swamp in her hands and want to double down.
My money's on the kid.
