I'm starting to get all misty about leaving New York now that the day is finally approaching. I've been compiling a list of all the things I'm going to miss about living here, and I keep thinking of new things every day. If you live here or are just visiting I highly recommend you check all of these out (except maybe for Zucco..)

Good luck with the move. I miss New York, and I only moved to Connecticut. There's nothing like living right in the City. I've brought my daughter into some of those places--like Belvedere Castle and a movie at the Ziegfeld.

And really there's so much more. I was born in NYC and left 4 yrs ago for LA-- another big suburb like Austin. Nothing compares. You'll have complete Post NYC Stress Disorder for quite some time. I go back 2-3 times per year to stave off mental breakdowns. The things I miss the most are: the people everywhere, interacting, avoiding, touching, laughing, screaming, and all their energy. And the food. There's no place like NY for restaurants, delis, pizza places, Dean and Deluca, Gourmet Garage and all the rest. But Austin and LA have their own good points and you begin to appreciate those too. Good luck in Austin. That's the only other city I could move to. Hope to see you there for SXSW in 2010.

Oh I forgot. Walking. Basicallly, you'll never walk again. Make sure you get a gym membership immediately or risk an ever expanding figure.

Wait, Al Roker and Little Steven are neighbors? How did I not know that?
I still can't believe you're leaving. Just try and make a list this long about Austin. You just try it.
